How Big Is Your Carbon Footprint?
Concerned over the impact of your emissions? You can make up for the carbon footprint—by planting trees.
The nonprofit Conservation Fund has launched a new program, Go Zero, to measure and offset carbon dioxide emissions. Check out the online Carbon Zero calculator to input your annual consumption for three categories (home energy use, daily transportation, and air travel) to determine the number of trees it will take to neutralize your personal impact on climate change. On average, each tree planted as part of the Fund's Go Zero program sequesters approximately 1.33 tons of CO2 equivalent over a 100-year period. With your donation, The Conservation Fund will plant the appropriate number of native trees on your behalf.

cars, we can save up to 1.3 million gallons of water.
9. Every year in North America, people use enough disposable wipes to fill
up 9,000 tractor-trailers. You can help reduce this quantity by choosing
reusable wipes.
10. For every 10,000 people who empty their lint filters after every load,
we could save the energy equivalent of 670,000 load cycles.
